Since the formation of Bickers Lifting in Jan 2008, complimenting our Film & TV Engineering interests & progressing into the inspection, manufacturing, testing & servicing of lifting equipment. We have employed 2 lifting engineers with many years of experience within this industry.

Working from our premises in Coddenham will enable us to manufacture and carry out testing with ease. A very practical approach is taken with every project. We are looking to supply or sell lifting equipment to a wide range of industries.

ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Bickers Family have been involved in many businesses in Suffolk during the past 50 years – including village taxi and garage services. Also local bus services and Continental Coach holidays.  In the 1960’s Bickers gained motorcycle involvement through Dave Bickers’ scrambling career with a natural progression to owning a Motorcycle business in Ipswich for 25 years complimented by the import of CZ motorcycles and the distribution of motorcycle parts nationwide.

The family’s interest then took another turn towards the Film industry when in the 1970’s Dave Bickers performed a number of stunts for films and interest turned away from the motorcycle retail trade. Bickers Action was formed in 1978 from what was a hobby for Dave Bickers and has led to 30 years later a workforce of 10 full time employees and 8 subcontractors working with Film & TV mechanical SFX worldwide. Also car stunt rigging and coach-building tracking vehicles for Television shows to Bond movies, which involves all kinds of vehicle and general engineering. Many of these projects have involved lifting rigs and equipment for cars and film equipment.

It is from this that Bickers Lifting has been established in 2008, which compliments our Film and TV engineering interests very well. It seems a natural progression to move into this section of inspection, manufacturing, testing and servicing of lifting equipment.
