For the past 82 years the Bickers Family have been well known in Suffolk through their various businesses (Bickers of Coddenham Ltd), from village taxi and garage services to local bus services. Throughout Dave Bickers’ scrambling career in the 1960’s Bickers gained motorcycle involvement which progressed into owning a Motorcycle business (Dave Bickers Motorcycles) in Ipswich for 25 years complimented by the import & distribution of CZ motorcycles and parts nationwide. In the 1970’s Dave Bickers performed a number of stunts for films and the family’s interest turned away from the motorcycle retail trade towards the Film Industry.

From what was a hobby for Dave Bickers, in 1978 Bickers Action was formed & after 30 years is a thriving business working worldwide from Eastenders to James Bond 007. Now under the control of Paul Bickers, Dave’s son, who took over the running of the business after working with his father for many years. It has 10 full time employees & 8 subcontractors working with Film & TV mechanical SFX worldwide, including car stunt rigging & custom building of tracking vehicles for many projects from TV shows to Bond movies involving all kinds of vehicle & general engineering. Bickers Lifting
Hence the formation of Bickers Lifting in Jan 2008, complimenting our Film & TV Engineering interests & progressing into the inspection, manufacturing, testing & servicing of lifting equipment. We have employed 2 lifting engineers with many years of experience within this industry. Working from our premises in Coddenham will enable us to manufacture and carry out testing with ease. A very practical approach is taken with every project. We are looking to supply or sell lifting equipment to a wide range of industries.
